I have a TON that I need to blog about. So we are going to clear back to the end of August / September.
We went on a ride with Jake & Katie, Brent, and another Jake. We went to see how the colors were changing. It was just the start of the change but it was beautiful. This time I rode with Ben so I could enjoy the ride and relax.

It was a good ride. We always have a good time! We winterized our bikes a couple of weeks ago and I already want to go on a ride. So lets hope this winter goes by FAST!!!

My brother Denver came home from his mission a couple of years ago. Well the weekend he came home I was able to meet him at the airport here in SLC and then fly the rest of the way home with him. Well the weekend he came home I took this picture...

I love it. This was taken in April. I think this was taken his first full day back. But I was going through a box of pictures the other day and saw this and had to post it because I just love it!

I was one of the many people in line at Seagull Book. It was there celebrating women event. One of the things that you got was a free prize. Well I saw what the prizes were in their magazine and I fell in love with this one.

I got there about 5 min after it opened but I couldn't believe how many people were there. It was a spoil me moment. I got a few very good deals and loved for the first time being part of the "shopping crowd".

But I love the saying that hangs on the wall by my kitchen.

TIM MCGRAW

Back in August I got to go see Tim Mcgraw in concert. A friend of mine that I work with (who is also single) came to me and said I have 2 tickets to see Tim Mcgraw next Saturday and I don't have a date. Well right after she said this to me my wheels started turning and I said, I just happen to be single next Saturday. So she took me.

The Band Perry opened for him.

Those are the only pictures I got of The Band Perry. As you can see I had a big white tent in my way.

Then Luke Bryan came out!

I had heard a couple of his songs before the concert. But I came to find out that I really enjoyed his music.

He did a very good job of getting the crowd ready for Tim.

So half way through Luke playing I looked over (right in front of me) and saw this...

If I stood up and put my hand out I could touch it.
I turned to my friend and said to her "Tim is going to come and play right there." "McKenzie no he isn't" Well we proceeded to argue about this until I was proven right.

So as you can see he was very nice about shaking hands with all us screaming girls. I got to shake his hand twice. It was very cool.

Bear Lake Part 2

While we were in Bear Lake we did a little 4-wheelin'. As you can see it had been raining. Rain + dirt = MUD (and lots of it). Which makes for a TON of fun 4-wheelin.

Lets just say I went and stood in the backyard and they had to spray me off before going even into the mud room.

I could barley see out of my helmet when we were done. I am so not complaining because it was a blast.

While we were in Bear Lake we went and took a tour of Minnetonka Cave. It was raining and cold while we were waiting but it was fun.

We did get to have a little fun the water. It was quite fun. My dad and Ben tipping the canoe over while fishing and falling in.

Then there was Me, McCall, Emily, and Kylee (in the above picture), when we got to shore McCall got out or the paddle boat to "make sure we were secure" so she could help my sister Emily get out of the boat and when we pulled on the boat out went Kylee into the water. She wasn't too happy with us after that.

Family Reunion 2011

Bear Lake! We got together with my side of the family and went to Bear Lake! It was so much fun.
It was my Mom (kelly) Stepdad (mack), Dad (mark) and all my siblings, spouses and kids.
We rented a big cabin, which was amazing, and hung out for a few days. It rained some of the time but we played lots of games, watched movies, sat in the hot tub, rode 4-wheelers, and visited the lake.

This sweet little girl is Paisley! I think she was only about 2 months old in this picture. I am mad that I didn't get more pictures of her than that ONE! She is so stinkin' cute! I get to see her and my nephew in about a month and I am so EXCITED!

Who can forget HADLEY! My Grandma and Grandpa came up for a little bit on the last night we were there and brought my mom's dog. They were kind enough to babysit. She is a stinkin' cute little thing.

My sister brought her Wii and some dancing games! We had fun doing that too. There is more to post about, A 4-wheeling adventure where i ended up VERY VERY muddy. Going to lake, Ben and my Dad (mark) tipping the canoe over. My sister McCall and I taking Kylee, Emily and the two of us out on a paddle boat, and while trying to get back to shoe and secure the boat so we could Emily out of the boat we dumped Kylee over board! We also took an afternoon and went and had a tour of the Cave that is up there!

I will post about that in Part Two! I am hoping to get some pictures of our 4-wheeling adventure from my dad very soon. Then I can post those.

So clear back at the beginning of JUNE, we went on a family trip to Bear Lake. Well I sat down finally last night ready to Blog about it and went through the computer forever (looking for the pictures) only to realize that they were still on the camera! That's right still on the camera. So as are about to leave to go to a work picnic, I will leave you with a couple of pictures, and then I will blog about it tomorrow.

P.S. ~ I really have something cool to blog about after Bear Lake, so don't give up on me!

What's the best place for me to go?

So I have put off for a VERY VERY long time going to the eye DR. But any of my friends out there know that I HATE to drive at night because I can't see very at all. Well I have been putting it off way to long now that I am ready to go to the DR. The problem is I don't have vision ins. So any suggestions on the BEST place for me to go?

Last weekend we went camping and I was working on it when someone told me "McKenzie you haven't posted a picture of that in a while on your blog." So I am doing this post just for Aunt Connie!

Ben & I got to go to Bear Lake and have a family reunion with my side of the family. We got back today! It was amazing and lots of things to blog about but I just wanted to post this family picture really quick. I love my family!

First Sunburn of the Season

Last night Ben asked me if I had any plans today. I said no. (anything to get out of cleaning the house) Well he said how does a Bike ride sound. I of course was a little hesitant at first (just because I haven't been riding that long.) but said Sure! He called his Dad (Brent) and his brother Jake and got them on board. We all meet at Ben's dad house and off we went! He headed to Legacy Parkway to Ogden, then up Weber Canyon to Morgan. Where we stopped for some yummy subway for lunch. Then we wrapped around East Canyon Reservoir down into Henifer. Then back to Salt Lake through Park City. I don't know what little gas station we stopped at but it started to RAIN!!! I was not to pleased by this. First, I have not been riding that long at all so it was the last thing that I wanted to deal with. Second, We were not prepared to be in the rain. But I know that my prayers were being answered because no sooner did we get back on the bikes to endure the rain...but it STOPPED! It was certainly an answer to my prayers. We arrived safely back home. The more I ride, the more i fall in love with it. So I am excited that we went riding today even if I was a bit nervous from time to time.

Now to the title of the post...First Sunburn of the Season. After we got done riding today, we hung out with Ben's parents for a little bit before making our way home. Once we got home we got all cleaned up and went and got something for dinner. As we were waiting in line at Carl's Junior, I looked down at my arm and noticed that I had been sunburned. I was thinking, how could this be I was wearing a leather coat and gloves. But it happened I was still sunburned. And it is a pretty bad one, for being the first one.

I couldn't believe it when I finally saw it!!! I started laughing pretty hard. I looked at Ben and told him I would be bloggin' about this. It was funny. Being fully geared up from head to toe, I manage to get a little tiny sunburn between my glove and my coat sleeve. And it is only on one wrist. To bad i don't have another matching wrist, I guess my left wrist needed some time to its self!!!

Projects

Ben & I just got home from a delicious Easter dinner at his parents house! All the food was delicious.

But now that we are home Ben is out playing his PS3, (playing Nazi Zombi's to be correct; which is a highly addictive game) I started a load of laundry and thought of all the projects that I needed to get done so I closed the door on our spare room; which is the computer and my craft/sewing room. It is a disaster right now. I have a ton of things that I need to get done and a ton of things that I want to do. I guess I need to sit down and make a list of everything I need to get done. It is hard to get motivated when both of my sewing machines are broken. Well I shouldn't say broken one hasn't worked in a while and is in storage, the other that I use regularly needs to go to the Dr. and have a check up. It needs it BAD!!! So maybe this week it will make it in. That will help me get a jump start on my biggest project that I need to get done. It involves the following picture.

(the cream has slight gold sparkles in it; and the brown has small polk a dots of all the other colors).

I make a Rag Quilt for my nieces and nephews when they are born but our sweet niece Paisley gets something special. So I won't be able to post a ton of pictures about it until it is done and Paisley had received her blanket. So the above picture is all you get for now.

All the other projects are just A LOT of little ones that I need to get done. I don't like being unorganized so this week is dedicated to organization so I can get them done!

Zoo Trip

On Friday, April 1st, I had the change to take the twins I watch to the Zoo! The weather was perfect and we had a ton of FUN!

Alexandra & Ahnika on the Carnival ride. Alex was not a huge fan of it. But Ahnika loved it.

They loved the snakes. They would see a snake and say (with all the excitement the could muster) "Kenzie nakes (aka snakes)! They would say it over and over! Needless to say we spent alot of time looking at the snakes.

They wouldn't look at me for anything!

The nice gorilla scared little Alex and she would not sit down for anything. Ahnika is fearless. So just went and sat right down.

It was at this point in the Zoo I got to see our nieces Kennedy and Macy. It was fun.

This peacock was tormenting the poor turkey's. It was quite funny.
It was the perfect day to go to the Zoo. There weren't alot of people and the weather was perfect. I know that there will many more Zoo adventures this summer.

Concert of a Life Time

On Saturday April 2nd, we had the opportunity to see Leann Womack, Reba Mcentire, and George Strait in CONCERT!!! I was just like a 6 year old at Christmas time. I was in heaven! I LOVE George and Reba.

They both sang alot of their older songs and their newer ones. It was a good mix! I loved it.
I don't know what more I can say other than I took a TON of pictures so Enjoy!

REBA

Reba sang "Does He Love You" with Leann. She originally did this duet with Linda Davis.

It was about this moment when Reba started talking about her acting career and thanking all her fans for all the support over the years. She then went in to talking about her show Reba. Then all of the sudden Melissa Petermen ran up on stage!

She was so FUNNY! They did a short little comedy thingy. Then Reba sang Survior. The theme song from her show.

After Melissa was on stage, Reba sang one more song then left and came back and sang Fancy! (which I believe was on her vary first album)

George

George had a microphone at every corner of the stage and would sing 2 or 3 songs at each one and move to the next one. It wasn't anything super fancy or a big production. It was just George singing his songs! Amazing!

Aunt's and Uncle's are the Best

Ben & I love being Aunt's & Uncle's. I know that i love the conversations you can have with them, the story times, the puzzles, the play time, the walks around the block, and anything it may be. And the more the merrier.

We are so excited to be an Aunt and Uncle again...that's right again!
Kari & Rain are expecting their first baby in OCTOBER! We are so excited for them!

Tangled

I love to collect Disney / Pixar Movies. I have got quite the collection going. I didn't see Tangled in the theaters so I was way excited to go and get it when it came out on DVD last week.

I watched it for the first time just a couple of hours ago. I LOVED IT!!! It was so cute. With everyone that I talked to, I didn't hear one negative thing about the movie. I am happy about my "blind" purchase.

Now if only I could grow my hair that long...

I am currently reading this Book...

It is about a man who saves a little girl who has been shot; as he is trying to save her he hopes that his ailing heart doesn't fail him before he reaches help. He is burdened as a murder suspect his life begins to unravel as his teenage son Raul announces that he and his girlfriend is pregnant; and then suddenly Hectors cancer suddenly come out of remission threatening his life and his relationship with everyone in his life.

On my lunch breakes at work I sit in my secret place and read. When I was reading on Tuesday I came across this paragraph...(leading up to this Raul has just found out about his dad's cancer and is a little upset with his dad he kept it a secret)

" Is all about faith," he could hear his father saying. " Is given to no man to see the future, but the Great God He see all, and through our faith and a desire to do the right thing, God He open doors so we overcome the difficulties of life and one day find the joy and happiness that God He wishes us to have."

I fell in love with that little paragraph. I don't know what else to put other than it really got me thinking alot about my life.

Too Many Days To Count

Anyone who knows me knows that my two favorite country singers are George Strait and Reba Mcentire. Guess who is coming to Salt Lake City, and guess who gets to go...ME!!!

I will totally admit that I was one of those stockers that sat on the computer and waited for the tickets to go on sale, because I didn't want to miss out.

I got them and Ben is getting dragged along with me. I am so excited! I can't wait!

Yesterday Ben turned the big 30! He got what he wished for a day filled of lifting heavy things off of a truck and getting paid for it! What a wonderful birthday.

We went to dinner at Mom & Dad Nelson's. We had the most delicious roast a beef, tatoes, Cauliflower, and cheesecake. Thanks mom for fixing everything.

But for Ben's birthday his true wish came true...The birthday fairy (aka me - Kenzie) got Ben a Playstation 3. We have come to love playing Nazi Zombie's.

Canyoneering

2 weeks ago Ben went Canyoneering with a guy he works with. I don't know alot about it. But what I do know is that it involves heights + repelling long distances = not good for McKenzie. But Ben really enjoyed it and the second trip is already in the works. Ben was able to get a few pictures but his trip was interuppted this time when a guy in their group fell about 30 feet. I'm not going to go into the extent of the guys injuries but I will say that he is doing fine. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him, but he is doing fine. Here are a few pictures of Ben's trip.

I just got back from doing some shopping. The conclusion that I have come to is, that you know you are an adult when, (with part of your birthday money) you buy sheets for your bed (thanks again Jake & Katie). But you feel good about it because you got them half off.

Today is Saturday, Ben is down in Green River, (by Moab) doing some Cayoneering for the first time, so I hope he is having fun. I tried to get myself really motivated today to get all kinds of cleaning done and to even get some scrapbooking done. Has any of that happened, yes it has, the cleaning part of it anyway. But not as much as needs to be done. I have enjoyed my laziness.

Thanks for listening to my randomness. Hopefully Ben is getting some good pictures of his trip so that I can post some for you when he gets home.

Rock, Rock, Rock

Last night we had dinner and Ben's parents house for my birthday. (I will post about that later) While some of the adults were playing a game, our niece Macy got into the rocking chair and sat there and rocked back and forth saying (with a very big smile on her face) "Rock, Rock, Rock."

Reba

This is my dog Reba. Reba is a Blue Heeler. She was named after Reba Mcentire.

Reba had to be put down on Sunday. She lived a great life. She was a great cattle dog. She loved riding in the back of the truck on the way to the mountains. Or in the cab of the truck with PaPa as he plowed the snow in the winter. She was always excited to see you when you drove up the drive way. She loved to sleep in the garage next to a warm fireplace when it was cold outside.

Yes Christmas is Late...

I know that I am posting about Christmas late, but at least I am getting it done right?

But I will confess now that I forgot the camera on Christmas Day, so I didn't get any pictures of that. The pictures that I am posting is of the Fullmer Family Christmas Party.

For the family party this year the kids did a book exchange. They were so excited about them. Alot of the kids got to reading their new books right away.

Cleaning

Any of my family & friends out there know that I hate to clean the TOILET! I will clean the bathroom but hate to do the TOILET! So the other day at work, it was a rather enjoyable afternoon and some of the er nurses that I work with found this new way for the toilet to be cleaned. I fell for it right away and just thought I would pass along this new method.

How To Clean a Toilet...

1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.

2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close the lid. (You may need to stand
on the lid).

4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the
toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.

5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a 'power-wash and rinse'.

6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between
the bathroom and the front door.

7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift the lid.

8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.

9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.

Now as you all know this was just in total fun. We found this and thought it was funny. It also proves one thing, sometimes at work we have too much time on our hands.

I hope you all (or the few of you that do read my blog) found that it made you chuckle and put a smile on your face.

My first road trip

My cousin Chelsie is expecting twin girls around Christmas time; & her baby shower was on Saturday. A couple of weeks before her shower I was talking to my mom and she told me that she would be coming down for the shower with my little sister Alexis & asked me if I was going to go; I said yes. Well the wheels in my head started turning with the thoughts of "maybe I could ride my motorcycle." I talked to Ben about it and he thought if the weather was good that it would be good for me to do it. So over the next week I watched the weather report every chance I got. It looked like it was going to be good weather for me to make the short trip to Lyman. I was very excited and nervous to go. Friday morning rolled around and I packed up the bike and headed on the road. Ben had to work and so I rode all by myself.

Friday morning it was FREEZING, so I stopped in Morgan to warm up a bit and then headed on my way. I arrived in one piece. No problems. I LOVED every minute of my ride.

Saturday after the shower I loaded up again and got back on the road. Can I say again that I LOVED it even more. The weather was perfect. I can't wait until next summer when I can do some more riding.

Lately I have been thinking about things that I could blog about. Sometimes I feel like I have to post pictures of something significant or eventful in our lives. I am starting to realize that I don't always have to post about something big. And that I don't always have to include pictures. (thanks for letting me vent)

Today Ben & I took a drive up Sardine Canyon. Our goal was to get to Logan and to see all the beautiful fall colors as we drove through the canyon. We did get to see some beautiful colors but I think that if we had gone last weekend; the colors would have been very vibrant and just perfect. But it was still very nice to see.

Once we got to Logan we made our way to Gossner Milk. We picked up some cheese, cheese curds, and lots of Yummy milk.

It was a good Saturday just to spend together and do something that we wanted to do.

A little Behind...

I know that I am a little behind on my blogging...considering this post should have happened back in MAY. Our sweet niece Eliza turned 5! The past two years on her birthday she has chosen to do Tie Die! We have loved doing it with her and hope that we get to do them again.

This year Ben & I each got to do a shirt and then I did some bandana's and 2 little sun dresses (for the twins i watch). I didn't get a picture of the finished products but I hope you enjoy what I did get.

After you color them, you have to put suran rap around them and then put them in a baggie and let them sit for 24 hours.

After we unwrapped everything, we filled the bath tub with water and let them soak to help get the excess color out.

Back on August 14th my little sister Alexis married her Best Friend Matt. I have a lot of fun pictures of the wedding that I want to post but I can't because I can't find the cord for my carmera that I need to get my pictures off the camrea to the computer...I don't know where it is. I did a spring clean on my spare bedroom, and I still can't find it! GRRR~ I think I am going to have to go and by a new cord!

Beauty of Asia

For those of you who know me, I love to do Counted Cross-Stitch. Back in April I found a cross-stitch called "Beauty of Asia". I fell in love with it and had to have it. I saved my pennies and was finally able to buy it. I knew going into it that it would be the biggest & hardest one that I have attempted. Well when I finally got it in the mail and started to open the package I soon realized how big it really was.

Yes by far this is the biggest one that I have ever attempted. Now 5 months later of working on it as much as possible, I have 1/4th of it done. The pattern came in 4 sections.

This is a close up of what i have done so far.

Part 4

A big part of our trip was to ride Highway 1, the coast. It was so amazing, beautiful, and I just couldn't get enough of it.
(pretty much all of the following pictures I am taking as we moving)

We stopped at this little gift shop / ice cream shop and had some ice cream.

One of the many amazing things about the coast is that one minute you would go around the corner and all you could see to one side is the ocean, and then you would turn a corner and there would be nothing but trees around you.

On our journey, we took a 40 mile detour and went an saw a light house. It was closed the day that we were there but you could still walk to it, to the little viewing area they had, you just couldn't go directly down to the light house.

Once we got to the little information center they had, they had a skull & a rib of a gray whale. Pretty cool to see.

Down on the rock there were some animals and TONS of them. I can't remember what they were but you could hear them talking to each other.

I know you can't see them in this picture very well, but there were some sea lions on this rock.

On one part of the viewing area they had a look - out point for whale watching; for gray whales.

We stood there for a minute but we got to see one. I tried to take a few pictures of him. I had my camera zoomed all the way in. Right in the center of the picture there is a small splash, which is the whale going back into the water. I have always wanted to see a whale and so now that I have, it has been checked off the bucket list.

After the light house we made our way into Mendocino. Does anyone know what is Mendocino is famous for...it is where to opening to Murder She Wrote was filmed.

Taking a break in Mendocino. We walked up and down the street doing a little window shopping. Just outside of one little store was this beautiful plant / flower.

The picture doesn't do it justice. The colors were so bright and beautiful.

That night we camped not too far out of Mendocino.

Ben & his dad eating some kippered snacks. That is one snack they can enjoy all by themselves.

That night it misted a little bit. It never really rained. The next morning when we were packing up the bikes, we saw this banana slug.

During our travels that day, we got stopped for about 15 minutes in some construction. The fog was very apparent, which made it very cold, but I wanted to get some pictures of the fog and the ocean.

Another fun thing that we got to do was just outside of Leggett, CA; there is a drive-through-tree.

On the sign it says: Height 315 ft Diameter 21 ft & Maximum age: 2100 Years
It was pretty cool.

We had to stop and get a picture of the sign. To show that we had completed our journey.
Our next stop. The Avenue of the Giants.

Part way through our journey there was a little information center. Well in the information Center had a driveable tree in it. It was just like a camper, it had a little bed and kitchen area in it.

But like all amazing trips, they all must come to an end.

Thanks to our good friend Jason, He drove from SLC to Reno, to pick us up and drive us back because Ben's dads bike started having some problems and became not driveable. But I will just say that it was really nice to enjoy the air conditioning! It was an amazing trip all around that was filled with alot of First's for me and some for Ben.

These next 3 pictures are just of chocolate getting mixed. It is in the Ghirardelli store. And yes we did but a lot of chocolate~

The Golden Gate Bridge. It was just amazing.

Taking a break. We were in Sausalito. It was an amazing view. While we were there we became very good friends with this bird. He really liked our food.

He really likes bread, cheese, and meat.

In this picture I was trying to get the ships to see the difference. (one on each side of Alcatraz)

We then made our way to Muir Woods. The only thing I can say about it is that it is Amazing! The trees were huge! The thing that was significant about Muir Woods was that I lost my wallet. Though somebody stole it but it fell out of my pocket and someone turned it in to the park service ranger and they were very nice and didn't take any of my money.

I didn't write down what all those little markers on the tree said but as we were walking through Muir Woods I heard one of the tour guides say that one tree had been there since Columbus's time. The trees are redwoods.

Ben wanted to show how big the clovers were. They were the biggest I have ever seen.

One thing that I was excited for while in Cali was Alcatraz. That is what I knew was there besides The Golden Gate Bridge. So I took all the pictures I could of Alcatraz. We didn't get the chance to go on a tour, but I still loved taking pictures from all around the city of it.

We were on Pier 39 and I had my camera zoomed all the way in on the above picture. On the picture below I was zoomed in about half way. The bottom picture there was no zooming.

The first night in San Fran, after we checked into our hotel room we went down to Pier 39 and Fisherman Warf. Ben & I standing on hone of those huge binocular things. I was freezing!

We made our way down The Warf, we made our way to the best seafood restaurant I have ever eaten at... SCOMA'S Our Waiter got in on our conversation...(which was quite funny) I don't remember the exact conversation but it came up that Ben is the baby of his brothers and sisters and so was our waiter, well with Ben's meal came a bib...so our waiter made sure that Ben had it on and that he wore it during the entire meal... I thought it was Fun!

The next morning we got up and our first stop was CHINA TOWN~ I thought it was awesome. Ben & I both found some goodies in China town. It was alot of fun. I am sad that I didn't get anymore pictures of it though.

We went to the beach! When I think of the beach I think of a nice hot day with the sun shining bright. Well not in San Fran ...

Vacation = California

Part 1

On the 24th of July, we packed up our motorcycle and headed to California so we could ride Highway 1. I was so excited because well I love to ride the bike and I had never been to California. We needed to get to Reno. In the car it is a long day. It is about 575 miles. On a bike it is a REALLY LONG DAY...I was so tired by the time we got to Reno. But what I didn't know was the excitement that I was about to find. We drove around town a little bit and then found our way out to Boomtown. As we arrived in town we came to a lightning storm. Well pretty soon we look over and in this field was a fire. It looked like it got an old bridge. Anyway, we got to the hotel and checked in by the time we got back outside to the bikes to unload our gear the fire alarm in the hotel went off. So then being the smart people that we are sat in the lobby of the hotel listening to the fire alarm for about 30 minutes. We finally got to go to our room as the alarm was still going off but we didn't care. We just wanted to sit on something that wasn't moving.

The famous Lombard Street. I had one of those "I have seen this in a movie" moments & now I am really here. It is the crookedest street in the world. It was so fun. I loved it. It was so beautiful with all the flowers.

I DID IT

About 3 weeks ago, I got a call from Ben in the middle of the asking me how willing I was to sell me motorcycle. 3 years ago I bought a little 250 cc bike. I never really learned how to ride it. i have talked for a very long time about wanting to learn so I could start riding to work and sometimes being able to go on a ride around the valley on my bike and Ben on his. Well when he called me and asked me about how willing I was to sell it, I asked what the catch was. His brother Jake had recently bought a 1800 cc bike, and was selling his 750 and wondered if I wanted it. This bike (the 750) was Ben's first motorcycle that he bought. So i jumped at the chance and said YES!

Then Ben told me that the next weekend Jake was taking the motorcycle riding class through Salt Lake Community College and wondered if I would want to take it with him. I of course said yes, but then after I got the email confirming my enrollment in the course, I started to get really nervous. Then the first day of class came and I was even more nervous. Luckily we were in the class room the first day. The second day we had to be there bright and early at 6:45 am so that we could start on the range and bikes learning the basic skills etc. After the first couple of exercises I was okay, and the nerves calmed down alot.

I didn't really get nervous again until it was TEST time. I had never riden on the 750 before but I wanted to test on it. There are ceartin limitations in the state of Utah that if you test on a 750 or higher you have no limitations on what cc bike you are licensed to drive. I figured that since I was buying the 750 I better be able to drive it right. So when it came to my turn I got on it and away I went. I starting having a panic attack when I didn't do well at the first exercise that they test you on. Well we did 3 other exercises and then the instructor went to the trailer with all of our test sheets and came back and a few minutes later and said, "How do you think you all did?"
one guy in our class said "I hope we all passed." The instructor replies "YES YOU ALL PASSED"

I was so proud of myself. What a big accomplishment for me. It was out of my comfort box to do something like that and i am so proud that I did it. That left going to the dmv for the written portion. Well I went the first chance that I got. I failed it twice by one question. The lady told me that I could come back the following Monday and try again. Well since it was a Thursday that I went in, and on that saturday I was leaving to California (which I will post about tomorrow) I had to wait a whole week until I got back. I went in and the sweet lady that was doing the testing said "McKenzie you passed" when i was reviewing my questions, to make sure I didn't want to change any answers. So I hit the finish button and passed the written portion. I now have my permit. I guess I better start practicing...

Happy Anniversary

Ben & I celebrated our 5th Anniversary back on the 10th of June.

I can't believe how fast time flies. I am very thankful for all that Ben does for me. I know I don't tell him enough. He works very hard for us. Thank you for being the love of my life and my best friend.

I hope you all will enjoy some of my favorite pictures from when we were sealed in temple.

SnowShoeing

Back in December, Ben & I went snowshoeing. I had so much fun. When it got close to my birthday, and Ben asked me what I wanted to do I said SNOWSHOEING! I loved it. I wish we would have gone a couple of more times but at least I had the chance to go when I did.

I don't know what more to say other than enjoy the pictures! I loved being in the mountains with all the beautiful snow. We went to a place called Spruces Campground. The Nelson family goes camping there every August. It is fun to go and see it in the snow.

So just a quick update to those of you who do worry about me posting and those who might read up on us...

The good news is that I only have 2 more nights of working graveyards. Tonight and tomorrow. Then I am back on the day shift. I am so excited. I think once the next 2 days are out of the way life will getting back to normal. I will be feeling normal again (which I am most excited about). I will have a little bit more time on my hands. I will be able to blog more. Because I have a couple of things that I want to post about.

So please don't loose faith in my posting abilities. I will be posting more than once a month.

Elephants

Elephants are just an all around interesting animal too me. About a month ago I was up in Wyoming visiting my dad and I mentioned to my dad that I liked Elephants. My dads hobby is ceramics. He has various molds which he pours, molds, paints, etc...(or however the process goes). He had these two Elephants on his shelf that I told him I thought were cool. After that nothing else was said about them.

My dad was in town this last week and when he came to my house he said he had a surprise for me. I at first thought that it was this bowl that I liked that he had been painting. Well it was the Elephants!

How cute are they! I have been looking / wanting something to use as book ends; for the photo albums under the small table in our living room. Ben is going to help me get some boards to put them on and there you go! I am so excited!

Germination: is the process in which a plant or fungus emerges from a seed or spore and begins growth. The most common example of germination is the sprouting of a seedling from a seed of an angiosperm or gymnosperm. However the growth of a sporeling from a spore, for example the growth of hyphae from fungal spores, is also germination. In a more general sense, germination can imply anything expanding into greater being from a small existence or germ.

Well, this weekend Ben & I planted some African Daisy's, Turnip's, Cauliflower, Lima Beans, and Cucumbers. Lets hope they grow.

I will be sure to show progress when they start to grow and if we actually get something out of them!

This morning when I got home from work I turned on the water to run some water for a bath. I relaxed for a little bit and when I was getting out I grabbed my phone with 2 wet hands and it slipped right out of them and into the water. I have never reacted so fast in my life. I turned the blow dryer on it; in hopes of saving it...but sadly it didn't. I then drove to SugarHouse only to be told that I had to buy a new one. OUCH. Luckily Ben's mom is on our plan and her phone was due for an upgrade so they let me use hers so I didn't have to pay full price for a new phone! I have been mad at myself all day!!

So last week when I was at the store, I bought some new fingernail polish. Those of you who know me know that I can't stand it when my nails aren't painted. Well I love the Sally Hansen nail products. Well I thought that I would give the new Insta Dry Polish a try...

I LOVE IT! With in 5 minutes I can be on my way and not worry about messing anything up!

Ready for Christmas?

Last night Ben & I set up our Christmas Tree and did all of our Christmas shopping. Well I shouldn't say all, we got all but 3 presents. I love that I am almost all done and that I can sit and enjoy this time of year. Christmas is my favorite. We are going to Wyoming for Christmas; which I am very excited about. My whole family will be together. Spouses and all! I can't remember the last time that we were all together. I was going to post a picture of our tree but I don't have a camera at the moment. I took it out to Beth & Ira's (on thanksgiving) and accidentally left it there. Good thing we are going to go to their house today. It is our nephew Huck's 3rd birthday! I can't believe that is already 3!

Ben & I met in the mountains! Thanks to our friends Mike & Sam; and my old roomie Camille! (to get really technical we met at a friendly campfire up Bountiful Canyon; that can be the mountains right)
Hmm our first date was 2 weeks after we met. It was the first weekend in October of 04. That is if I am not mistaken.
Our first kiss was 3 days after our first date! I was dead set on not letting Ben kiss me on our first date! Although he kept asking me to make out....(which leads me to #4)
I love my hubby's sense of humor!
We never broke up while we were dating!
We unofficially got engaged in March of 2005.
It was made official when I got my ring 2 weeks later.
We were married June 10,2005.
No kiddos running around yet.
We were sealed in the temple November 10,2007.
I have found a new love for the drink Sobe Life Water; Fuji Apple Pear and Goji Melon. Although nothing tops a Grape Soda!
Ben loves RC Cola!
TV is a favorite thing in our house!
I fully admit that I have an addiction to REALITY TV! Dancing with the Stars, Americas Next Top Model, So You Think You Can Dance, and American Idol (just to name a few.) I also love One Tree Hill, Dr. Quinn Medicine Women (lots of good memories with that show) and who can forget ELLEN!
Some of Ben's shows are Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch, anything on the Military Channel & History Channel, Family Guy and of course the Simpson's!
I own all of the James Bond Movies! That's right every single one of them! Maybe I can be the next James Bond girl (well maybe in my next life)!
My favorite movie is GONE WITH THE WIND!

The first time Ben went to Wyoming to me the family ~ he got a speeding ticket about 15 minutes from Sheridan. I mean we had only been in the car for 8 hours~
As a little little girl I remember going out to Carter,WY to pick up rocks with my Mom & Dad for the yard under my moms clothes line!
I have been to Canada. Only for a few short hours; but I was there!
I am falling in love with Traveling and seeing new places!
I wish I could be a better cook! Although I am really good at making Cream Cheese Cookies!
The last movie that we watched together was Wolverine (the new one with Hugh Jackman)!

Every memorial day weekend we go camping out at Isoepa~
I once went to curl my moms hair with the curling Iron and grabbed the iron with my hand and it was HOTT ;but I went into shock and could not let go of it! Once I started screaming my mom had to pry it out of my hand. I burned the whole palm of my hand!

I love things with sentimental meaning behind them! For example I have necklace that was once my Great Grandmas, it got passed to my mom and then to me. I have a leaf dish that my Great Grandpa made. I have 2 quilts that were made for me. One from a Great Grandma on my dads side of the family and from my Grandma on my moms' side (I also have a counted cross stitch that she made for me) Although I think my favorite is my sewing machine! It was my moms first machine! She gave it to me and it was my first machine too!

I had to save this part of Isopea for it's own post...I just have to say that I love my husband and I am so happy that he is willing to do anything for me...

I had asked Ben to open a soda for me. Well the soda was in a glass bottle and had one of those pop tops on it. Ben used a corner of the camper to rest the lid on...and with one swift motion hit his wrist to "pop" the lid off of my soda.

Well the lid hit the camper and then hit Ben in the eye...

Everyone that was near could hear this whole even taking place...

I hope that this picture isn't too creepy but if you notice that little red dot, that is the damage site to Ben's eye, plus the white of his eye was red...

Every year we go out to Isoepa with our friends Jason & Sage~

I kind of feel bad because I really don't know what I can tell you about Ben going to the races except that he had a lot of fun! He got to go with a few buddies of his. He got up early in the morning and didn't get home until it was late! I am glad that he had a lot of fun. So I hope that you enjoy some of the pictures that he took!

at least I don't think that we are. I don't know where all the time has gone. I have a ton of things to blog about but, I am not at home so I can't post any pictures right now. I was just reading my sisters blog and it kind of kicked me in the but a little so there will be A LOT of POSTS coming soon. I still need to blog about Ben going to the races, Isopea 2009, Moab 2009, Our Anniversary, and then I have a few random posts that need to happen.

About a month ago at work I switched to working the graveyards so i have been trying to get use to them. I think that it is finally starting to work itself out though. It has been a tough transition though because i don't get to see Ben from Sunday until Wednesday. But it is all better in the long run. It has made me really excited for school this fall. Any suggestions on what i could do for school I am open to them...because i haven't quite decided what I want to do yet.

So tomorrow when I wake up, I will be posting about Ben going to the races!

Call to Arms ... Box Top Education

Bountiful Canyon, Sunday Drive

After church today, Ben & I decided that we needed to get away and go on a "sunday afternoon drive." Well we headed up Bountiful Canyon. Well we get almost to the top and we come to a small patch of snow, (by small I mean about 50 to 80 feet). Ben puts the good old trooper into four wheel drive and we get about half way up. He then puts the tropper in reverse and gets to the bottom of the snow patch and decides that he wants to try it a second time. Well this time we get a good "go" at it and make it almost all the way to the top. On our way back down this time we end up sideways and STUCK. Thats right we got the trooper stuck. Right off the bat we do the reverse then drive thing, trying to get out of the rut that we were in. Then Ben tells me to get in the drivers seat and put it in reverse as he is trying to push...lets just say that I wasn't grasping the concept on this one. So then this nice man on a dirt bike stops to help us. We then tried the reverse system again with both guys pushing on the trooper. Still NOTHING! The only thing that we had to dig ourselves out at this point was a hammer, so away Ben goes. At this point the guy on the dirt bike says that he is going to ride to the bottom and send a buddy up with his truck to help pull us out.

So Ben & I kept trying to get it out. After a few minutes 2 more guys come. The first guy to approach us asked me "Hey, Are you guys stuck?" I really wanted to say NOPE! But I said yes. So he got off his 4wheeler and helped Ben. The next thing I know is Ben is hooking up the tow ropes to this guys 4wheeler so he can try and pull us out. Still no luck. So that guy takes my cell number (because Ben's was dead) and says that he is going to ride down and get his truck but he will call us when he gets to the bottom so that he can see if we still need him.

After he left, Ben finally dug down far enough that he went and found some rocks to get under the tire so that we could get out of this huge rut and whole that we were in at this point. We finally get the rock down far enough and Ben gets in the trooper and tries to back up the trooper and what happens next was no surprise to me...NOTHING... So the digging with the hammer continues...Finally on the third attempt of getting the rock into place, Ben in the drivers seat, and me pushing on the trooper at this point we get out of the mess that we were in.

It took about on hour from start to finish, after we get all situated and back in the trooper and start heading down the canyon the first thing that we see is The PARK RANGER coming to the rescue. It was kind of funny to be honest. Luckily we didn't need him to help us because he wasn't the sweetest person. It was a fun adventure, while Ben was busying digging away I told him how it reminded me of the time, when I was a little one, and my family & I had gone one a drive through Devils Canyon and we went off the road and we had to build up a rock wall to get out. But needless to say it was definitely a fun sunday afternoon!

BLOG OVERLOAD (part 1)

I haven't posted lately and I am so SORRY! The one thing that I have wanted to post about I couldn't because I would sometimes send my posts to my brother who was on his mission and this post is about him! He returned from his mission on April 2nd!

Now you are probably wondering why I was in the airport with him...Well about 6 weeks before he got home I received a call from my mom asking me if I would like to fly from SLC to Billings, (montana) with my brother. The reason that my mom wanted me to fly from SLC to Billings is because at the end of April they are going to Paris France with my brother to tour his mission. Well they are flying from SLC, so after they fly back to the US my brother is coming back after them and so they need 2 cars down here in Utah. So I brought back one of their cars.

The day that my brother came home I could hardly contain myself. I kept telling Ben that I felt like a little 5 year old at Christmas. The day before my brother came home, my mom called me and told me that my brothers flight had been delayed. She told me that the mission president called my papa that morning and told him about my brothers flight changes. Well to save a long story, I was able to switch my flight so that I would still be able to be on his flight. Well, once we got to the airport I got all checked in and went on a lone mission to find my brother. I thought that he was on a direct from Paris, but soon to find out that he wasn't. A very sweet lady in the airport told me what gate he was coming into and I found it an waited for him to come in. His plane came in and I got more excited. I waited and waited, and waited some more. Then there he was! The whole time I was excited to surprise him, because he didn't know that I was going to be there. Well he knew that I was going to be there I just didn't know that he knew that I was going to be there. When the mission president called my dad to tell him about my brothers flight changes, my brother was standing there and they left my dad on speaker phone. When the mission president got done talking, my dad said "Well his sister was going to join him in SLC and fly with him to billings." SO he knew that I would be in SLC he just didn't let on. Once I found him and he said goodbye to some other elders that were on his flight, we went and found Ben so that he could see Ben for a little bit before our flight left. After talking for a bit, I asked Ben to take some pictures for me and this is what I got...

I told you that I would be posting this picture and though it has been about a month since this picture was taken,I am finally posting it.

Anyone who knows me knows that I don't cook a whole lot. Well the other night I decided that I wanted to make Pizza for Dinner. I actually timed it just right that i put the pizza in the oven right when Ben walked in the door from work. How I managed that I don't know. But anyway, I had to take a picture of my disaster that came out of the oven.

Even though it looks weird it actually tasted ok.

I have a ton of pictures to post put I am geekin' out with my camera and photo editing so there will be tons of pictures to come. The other day I took some cool pictures of the bushes outside because of all the ice that was in the bushes. Also my sweet nephew Chad was blessed today so I took a ton of pictures of all weekend!

On Friday (the 16th) I had a birthday! Not that I am excited about turning another year older or anything but I am totally bragging about the birthday present that Ben got me this year. Now it is something that we both have wanted. Ben knows that I have wanted it alot longer than he has.

I have had fun the past few days just playing around with our new camera. Ben has too I might add. I would post some of the pictures that we have been taking but I am at work and should not be blogging right now but I am bored. I took some fun pictures the other night of Eliza & Huck playing with Grandpa!

In other news (for those of you that don't already know) about 2 weeks ago my right leg started to hurt really bad. At first it felt like I was getting a charley horse type cramp in my leg. But the pain just kept getting worse. By Wednesday my leg was going numb. Well when my boss found out, I just started to cry because I had been holding it in since sunday, hoping that it would just go away. I checked myself into the er because the dr on at the time thought that I might have a blodd clot in my leg. Well he ordered and Ultrasound and a CT angio and nothing. He gave me some pain meds and told me to follow up with a neuologist.

So the next morning I tried to get into see a dr but couldn't get in. Later that night the pain wasn't going away even with pain meds. So I got brave and called the neuologist on call for the er and made an appt with him for Friday. I went in to see him on Friday. I went to the dr and he found that I had lost the relfex in my right leg. He ordered an MRI of my back because at this point he figured that I had a problem with the discs in my lower back and that they were causing the pain in my leg. Sure enough I had a bulged disc in my lower back. Right now we are trying physical therapy. If I don't recover fully after the PT then my next option is surgery. I am hoping and praying that all I will need is PT!

I have been a little bit slow on my blogging and I don't know when it is going to get better. (I will explain later) But the purpose of this blog is just to show of our cute nephew Chad!

Chad was born on December 26, 2008 at 4:12 pm and he weighed in at 7 lbs and 11 oz and was 20 inches long. I just wanted to tell my sister Whitney and her hubby Evan I love you and I know you guys will be great parents. I love being an Aunt it is so fun!

On Christmas Eve Ben & I had the chance to go to Lyman and have dinner at my Grandma & Grandpas house. One of my favorite things is to play on her player piano! It was so fun!

Taste the Greek Goodness

So for any of you out there that don't know, I nanny for a lady that I worked with that had twins in mid October! She had 2 girls! Anyway, I watched her kids on Saturday night and she was not happy until I agreed to take home a plate of greek goodies! I am so happy that I did! They were all so DELICIOUS! My favorite though were the greek cookies! They are the ones in the picture that are the big braided looking things! I have been her nanny since mid November, there has not been a time so far that there has not been GREEK COOKIES in her kitchen. So if you couldn't tell her and her husband are greek and there house is very GREEK and I love it because the little GREEK in me!

Snow is falling all around

So most of you know (that live in Utah) but really anywhere, that it has been snowing all day long around here. I started my day off in North Salt Lake watching the twins. Half way through the day it started snowing. Although I love the snow I just thought how in the heck am I going to get home. I was up on the east bench. Almost all the way to the top! Anyway, I finally got the courage to go outside and brave the drive home that usually takes me about 10 minutes took me almost 40! I am very thankful that my car is good in the snow and that I was watched over making my way down off the east bench. When I finally made it back to our apartment, I thought to myself. I still have to go to the post office, but something has got to be done about all this snow in our drive way ( I think that I parked part way on the grass)! I came inside but on better shoes then what I had on, got my gloves, and grabbed the snow shovel and outside I went! At first I thought to myself, why in the heck has some snow removal not already been done around here because we live in a little apartment community. But I just started to shovel the steady falling snow. I had been outside about 10 minutes thinking this is going to take me FOREVER! Because of all the snow! Well pretty soon I looked up and saw the nice guy in the building across the street starting his snow blower and across the street he came to my rescue! After we got our driveway done he started to go to the other side of the building and started to do the other driveway! So I went along and helped him finish! It felt really good to help him do the other driveway! But I also felt very very thankful that he came over and helped me! I didn't catch his name but I thanked him and he went on his way! Again, I am very thankful that he came to my rescue or I might still be out there! I was going to go outside and take a picture of this pretty bush that is in our backyard with all the snow all over it but I can't find my camera!!!!

I was standing in line at the check out counter with Ben's mom and he could see me looking at these. Well I put them back...well when we got back from Las Vegas I got home from work to find them! I will admit that Ben is good at surprises!

As I was driving to work this morning, I was thinking about how there are a lot of things that I love that make me extremley lucky and also very thankful to have those things. One thing that I thought about was the fact that I love going to the post office anytime of the day on any day of the week to mail a package or to but stamps! I love the automated machine!

Also as the weather is starting to get cold, I love the fact that I have a warm car to drive to work in. First I saw a young guy riding his scooter on the freeway this morning. Umm...HELLO...it is a little on the chilly side in the mornings. Then once I was on Beck Street, I saw someone drive an older can that had no roof, or sides to the car. I couldn't tell what kind of car the person was driving, some type of a hatch back little car! It just made me feel very lucky to have a very heater in my car to keep me warm!

Now that we have been in our apartment for a few weeks I finally have pictures to post! I am not yet unpacked but at the rate that I am going...I will be unpacked in time to pack again!

We finally have INTERNET back! But my computer won't read my camera when I plug it in to load pictures. So I don't have any pictures to post! We got all moved into our new apt last weekend. Thanks to EVERYONE who helped! We really appreciated it! I think at the rate that I am going on unpacking and getting us settled in, it will be time to repack and move again! My sister McCall came over on Friday and visited with me for a little bit and as I was showing her around she said, "I can't believe that you got all this stuff in that old apartment of yours." I am now starting to wonder the same thing. Hopefully in the next couple of days we will be able to load pictures on the computer from the camera and then I can post some pictures of our new apartment!

About a week or two before we found out that we were moving for sure, I finally got shelfs for my bookcase! Sadly enough i took them right back down so I haven't had the chance to really enjoy them yet! But once we move and get settled I will be posting tons of PICTURES thats for sure!

I thought that I would post a picture or two of the current moving progress!

I wish that this was all the boxes that we had to fill, but I have a feeling that there is more stuff in our little apartment then we REALIZE!

All I can say is that I am glad that the boys had fun! I am glad that I didn't see that SPIDER!

Well as some of you have been told ... WE ARE MOVING ... we are very excited to be moving on to the next chapter in our lives. I am so nervous at the same time. I have lived in Utah now for just over 4 years and our apartment now has been my first "home" When I first moved to Utah I lived with my cousin Cassie & her husband Phil for a few short weeks and then Phil's parents were kind enough to open their home to me for a couple of months. Then I found my first "home." Ben moved in to our small one bedroom apartment when we were married and now it has been 4 years of living here.

We have found a cute 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment in BOUNTIFUL! I am so excited for this! (Ben better be too) We get to move in on October 3rd! That could not come fast enough. I have already started to back up some of the things that we don't use on a daily basis. I have to admit that I am not looking forward to the move itself.

One more thing that me, myself, and I am super excited about is the fact that I will now have my own washer and dryer! That was one of our requirements that we had to have washer and dryer in our apartment. We went shopping the other night and we found one that we like! So we will be getting that! I AM SO EXCITED! I hope that is not something to cheesy to be excited about, but I am so excited to have my own!

We are sad to leave the Sugarhouse area. We have been totally spoiled, with all the food, shopping, and everything so close. But I went and totally found all the scrapbooking and fabric stores so I am ok! I will be sure to take pictures along the way and post them of the moving and before and after!

Guitar Hero 101

This last Saturday (just a couple of days ago) I had the great chance of spending some time with my dad. He came to town from Wyoming for a cousins wedding, and I was able to spend some time with him. We took him out to dinner and then came home and taught him how to play Guitar Hero!!!

Disclaimer...he was totally laughing the whole time and would only play one song. He sat and watched Ben & I the rest of the time. I played my favorite song to play, Black Sunshine by White Zombie, and he started to look really worried when I was getting into it. I was only playing it on easy too!

We had tons of fun playing Guitar Hero with you DAD! We will need to do it again soon!

Since Ben is in school, I have some free time on my hands in the evenings when he is gone. I have really tried to keep myself busy with "projects." Well, even if it doesn't take me as long as he is gone, I have still accomplished something. This is my first project...

(don't look at the stitching too close, it was my first patch job on pants)

I think Ben got these pants the first or second summer that we were married. He has been wanting me to patch them for probably about a year. I finally got it done. After I got them done and took this picture I noticed a hole in the other LEG! Well needless to say I am not going to do it right away! it is not as bad as this one was. It was so hard to patch this one! Alot harder then it looked!

So last night was finally the JACK JOHNSON concert! It was so cool! I had so much fun! I don't know if I can begin to explain how exciting it was! This post is going to contain some pictures!

As we were standing in line waiting for the gates to open we were in front of 3 teenage girls that were totally sharing in our obsession of Jack! Once the gates opened and they took of, we got to our section and ended up sitting by them during the concert! It was actually really fun! This was my first concert. So i don't have anything else to compare it too but it was seriously AMAZING! Jackie J is seriously smooth as peanut butter! (he sang a song about being as smooth as peanut butter) Between Beth & I we took over 120 pictures! So these are just a few of how exciting the night was! Thanks Beth for going with me!
